We also love Renato’s because it’s one of the few Jersey City pizza spots that offers an exceptional grandma slice. Their slices are thin crust and served piping hot from the oven with generous mounds of cheese. Many locals will argue that Renato’s Pizza Masters is still the best pizza in Jersey City. Renato’s Pizza Mastersīefore Razza and ITA, there was one pizza king in Jersey City - Renato’s. Standouts include the Fontina (seasonal), the Italian Stallion, Funghi (pictured), and their classic Margherita. Although they have a steady roster of pies, ITA also offers seasonal specials. ITA’s pizzas are thick, doughy, and slightly charred.
That’s great news for pizza lovers because ITA offers some of the best pizza in Jersey City. The restaurant opened just weeks before the pandemic, but managed to survive the city’s lockdown. Tucked away in McGinely Square is ITA Kitchen, one of the newer pizza spots in town. Just make sure you place your order early as Razza occasionally sells out of pies. However, this means the hour-long wait times for a table are gone. Currently, Razza is offering pick-up, delivery, and outdoor dining only. Among our favorite pies are the Project Hazelnut, the Calabrese, and the Funghi.
